Who am i?
Hi! I'm sure you have guessed by the name, that I'm Kelly. I am a primary school teacher who has always had a love for taking pictures. What was once just a hobby, has now my career as a child and pet photographer.
Why do I focus on taking pictures of children and dogs?
Just over 4 years ago, my partner and I got our first dog together, Buddy (you will see him featured a lot throughout my social media). My phone was filled with pictures of him within a few weeks and I decided I wanted to get my first camera so that I can begin to learn how to take better pictures.
I am 100% that crazy dog lady who would spend most of a party with the person's dog in the kitchen! I just think dog's are so loving and bring good energy, so taking their picture is just a joy for me. They all have their own personalities and I think that is portrayed in their portraits. My Buddy, is a very serious boy and he takes his role as a model like the true professional he is...seriously!
Over the past year, I have had a baby girl- this is why I started to delve deeper into the world of capturing pictures of my little one. It's no secret that I love to be around children. I studied Early Childhood studies at university, became a nursery manager and then trained to be a teacher. My passion has always been early years through and through.
Well now that I'm a mum, I have been given the gift of seeing my little girl change and grow as she reaches new milestones. My excitement peaks every time she is on the edge of learning something new, but then I look back at pictures from over the past year and my heart breaks how quickly she has changed.
I am so thankful that I have taken as many pictures as I have, she changes so much week to week. I have actually documented her growth by sitting her next to the corresponding amount of donuts per month; we are certainly getting to the fun months now that she has an interest in food!
The most precious moments I have experienced this year, has been witnessing the friendship and bond my baby and Buddy have developed for each other since I brought her home. Nothing makes me happier than seeing her face light up when Buddy enters the room, likewise seeing his tail wagging like crazy when she's crawling towards him; it's just so cute.
I couldn't pick just one niche, so I knew I had to offer both pet and child photoshoots. I love meeting new families and their children/ pets and being part of capturing this moment in time for parents to cherish and look back on.
